This online course aims to help STEAM educators acquire a basic overview of what Soft Skills are and how to work on them with gifted students through STEAM education. It will examine how to harness Extended Learning Journals, STEAM lesson reflection periods and STEAM education critiques.
It will train STEAM educators and, by proxy, STEAM students to give and receive constructive criticism. It will also activate within STEAM educators and, by proxy, STEAM students the capacity to acquire the vocabulary to discuss Soft Skills in terms of strengths and weaknesses.
It will also briefly discuss why STEAM students with learning disorders (twice-exceptional gifted students) or those with histories of early life adversity can become overwhelmed and what STEAM educators should do about it.
