This online course aims to help learners acquire a basic overview of what Digital Literacy is and why it is essential. It will cover why the STEAM learners of today are Digital Natives, what this means in the STEAM classroom, especially when their teachers are Digital Immigrants; it will look at where the advantages and disadvantages of this disparity might lie; it will suggest ways in which the digital realm is a vital asset in pursuing enrichment opportunities for gifted children in the STEAM classroom. Finally, it will examine how to place a framework around this to better engage gifted students via the digital realm and facilitate self-directed learning to generate enrichment.
