This online course for Learning Unit 5 aims to help learners acquire a basic overview of why the Arts were a late addition to STEM, turning STEM into STEAM. It will examine where the added value lies in terms of skills and educational practices unique to the Arts. And it will look at several common thinking styles of gifted students and compare them with standard Arts Education practices.
It will touch upon the relationship between high anxiety learning situations and the triggering of learning disorders in twice-exceptional gifted students and suggest ways to keep gifted students with high anxiety in their parasympathetic nervous systems, the nervous state where learning can occur.
